A lot of time had passed working in corporate jobs, and I was slowly getting a feel for how to handle personal finance. The first day was pretty much head-scratching — it seemed as if the world were some kind of mysterious maze full of costs and jargon words related to finance.
It was an exciting time, landing my new job, but just soon enough, those hard truths of managing money hit me in the face with other responsibilities at hand. More often than not, I’d be shocked to see how many issues I had been blind to in my bid to live comfortable lives.
I generally thought my woes with money arose due to “luxury” expenses like eating out or overdoing coffee at a fancy café.

Soon enough, one of the major expenses affecting my finances turned out to be something that I saw every day: transportation costs.
I did not get it right away; rather, it took a number of years of money problems before this unspoken money problem became visible.
