The year 1966 was the high point for the band. But success was fleeting. Except in rare cases, it seems that most Sixties bands eventually did break up. Unfortunately, The Lovin’ Spoonful followed that pattern, first losing Zal Yanovsky and then John Sebastian before disbanding in 1968.
