I Overcame Low Self-Esteem with These Simple Tricks — You Can Too
Discover the Unexpected Method That Transformed My Self-Worth and Confidence
Low self-esteem is something I have always grappled with for as long as I can remember. It was not something that passed; it was a deep-seated issue in my life that manifested negatively in other different ways. This article, therefore, will document my journey and the critical steps that I did take to free myself from it.
Facing the Inner Critic
It all started with a simple question: What’s happening to you right now? Apparently, questions like these were anything but benign; in my experience, they brought me face-to-face with my inner critic — a voice that whispered “Please like me” all the time, one that knocked me around in the form of automatic judgments about myself.
Why did I crave external validation like that? If I heard those words — that I was the greatest and most inspiring person they’d ever met — I’d feel momentarily buoyed. But why did it matter so much? Because I craved acceptance and belonging. Deep down, I thought that if I achieved a certain enough level of praise and approval, it meant I’d finally be worth something.
