Society has finally perfected the art of making men feel empowered while demanding they sacrifice even more.
We live in a world weighted in opinions, a constant hullabaloo of voices competing for attention. The deleterious trend that my senses got hold of, in spite of the outrage, is short-changing our concerns under the guise of “positive masculinity.” This is supposed to be a great step forward, yet it seems to me a Trojan horse meant to quietly affirm a stereotype-the one it’s intended to challenge.
This is not a battle of men against women. It’s about bringing to light those peculiar constraints and expectations that we face but which often get ignored in the name of gender equality. I’m not here to take away someone’s battles; I’m here to shed light on a viewpoint that often gets overlooked or not understood. I ask that you keep this conversation going.
