From endless scrolling on our phones to an easy reach for junk food, these easily available satisfactions offer a triggered bath of dopamine, a neurotransmitter connected with pleasure and reward.

As someone who has, in person, had temptations by “cheap dopamine,” I have learned about the covert dangers this does pose over our productivity, mental health, and fulfillment in their true meaning.
